Classic Car Rally

The East African Safari Rally is taking place on the 22nd of November through December 1st . The idea is to allow classic cars built before 1974 to compete and in a 10 day race through the environment of Africa. The stages, or sections would be longer and the service crews and back up would be limited just like in the early days and the event will cover some 2500 miles through the remote and beautiful landscapes of Kenya and Tanzania.

Former Safari Rally winner and multiple Kenya National Rally champion, Ian Duncan has entered the Kenya Airways East African Safari Classic Rally 2009 again after the last attempt in 2007. Driving a powerful 1967 5 litre engine Ford Mustang navigated by his regular co-driver Amaar Slatch.

Access Kenya will be providing Internet connectivity all around the rally route to beam out the latest stories and rally news to the world’s media houses.
